Non-ionizing radiation emission source selected and the advocacy of the National Geographic Informat

Absrtact
The goal of this project was focused on measurement and analysis of non-ionizing radiation emission sources and public areas, also for operations of two sensitive areas environmental field strength 24-hour measurement and analysis. The results will then provide references for developing future strategic management. The other hand, convey correct concepts of non-ionizing radiation through public workshops and training sessions for Environmental Protection Bureau(EPB). In terms of non-ionizing radiation emission sources measurement had been conducted to 100 sites, up to November 30. The management information system developed specifically for this project was able to store all measurement data into the database for future reference and usage, and use such information to enrich geographic information system for providing public a convenient way of inquiry. In terms of non-ionizing radiation reports and messages, 7 international research reports as well as 100 articles of domestic and foreign news collected during the year gradually make public to web site of non-ionizing radiation control. And regularly maintain and update the web site to provide the latest and correct information. This year had planned and completed the non-ionizing radiation e-learning platform. After two times of reviewing by the Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan, R.O.C.(EPA), it also had re-examined by four invited experts and scholars at early August, and had given to EPB business executive. Lastly, this project had held 4 public workshops and 2 training sessions to EPB. It played a vital role in promoting correct concepts to nationals, scholars, non-profit environmental organizations, and gave them an opportunity to participate in the discussion regarding non-ionizing radiation subjects. To support EPA gathering advices of subjects regarding non-ionizing radiation from experts represented different domains, and provide them a platform for exchanging information as well as opinions, this project had held seven related conferences, and gathered, analyzed, presented precaution measurements of other countries at meantime which helped drafting and establishing the long-term exposure precaution measurement principles of new installation non-ionizing radiation emission source at sensitive areas in Taiwan. About 24-hour measurement and analysis environmental field strength at two sensitive areas. Considering the relevant case occurred in the past and what the distribution of emission sources are around, this project had selected a resident in Taichung City and an elementary school in Taipei City as the objects. In order to understand the variation at sensitive areas, used measurement instruments to record 24-hour radio-frequency and extremely-low-frequency electromagnetic field strength. The analysis results could offer EPA as the reference of developing management strategies.
